Sr Anne O'Shea has died |
Sunday, 22 January 2012
Sister Anne O’Shea, who served in the parishes of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Joseph’s, and latterly in Salford Cathedral for many years as Parish Sister and Sacristan, has died in retirement in Tullamore, Ireland. She was 88 years old. May she rest in peace.
Sr Anne was a sister of the Holy Family (St Emily) and worked in France during the Second World War before coming to Salford as a parish sister. She followed very much the spirit and example of the foundress of her Order, St Emilie de Rodat, who declared, "God gave me courage in every trial. Once I knew the will of God, nothing would stop me".
The funeral arrangements are as follows:
Tuesday, 24th January her body will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, at 6.30 p.m.
The Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 25th January at 12.00 noon in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore.
