It is with deep sadness

Fr Michael Ryan.

Father Michael Ryan died on Monday 16th August, 2010. Father Ryan was in his forty eighth year, the twentieth year of his Sacred Priesthood. May he rest in peace.
Michael Joseph Thomas Ryan was born in Purley, Surrey, on 18th September, 1962. He was baptised on the 3rd October 1962 in Purley. In 1968 his family moved to Altrincham and Michael was Confirmed on 16th May 1974 at St Hugh of Lincoln, Timperley. He was educated at St Hugh of Lincoln Junior School, Timperley, Blessed Thomas Holford High School, Altrincham, and Loreto Sixth Form College, Manchester.
He then studied at Christ and Notre Dame College, Liverpool, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology.
He was accepted as a student for the Diocese of Salford by Bishop Patrick Kelly in 1984 and began his studies for the Sacred Priesthood at St Mary’s College, Oscott.
He was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood at St Hugh of Lincoln, Timperley, on 13th July, 1991.

1994 February St Patrick’s and St Malachy’s, Manchester
As Parish Priest:
2004 February Holy Cross, Patricroft
Following the retirement of Fr Tom Mullins and the death of Fr Terence McCann, Fr Ryan took on the added pastoral responsibility for St Mattew’s, Winton, and St Gilbert’s, Brookhouse.
