Tremendous Pilgrimage to Ladyewell |
Sunday, 05 September 2010
On Saturday 4th September, Canon Tony McBride was accompanied by over 250 pilgrims on the annual diocesan pilgrimage to Ladyewell. The weather held good for a wonderful afternoon of prayer and recollection. Mass was celebrated in the parish church of St Mary's, Fernyhalgh, with Fr Flynn preaching on being fools for Christ.
The blessed sacrament procession followed along the country road, during which the rosary was recited for the intentions of the Holy Father as he prepares to come to England, as well as for the intentions of the pilgrims. At the shrine of Our Lady there were opportunities for confession, the chance to visit the amazing collection of relics, and time to unwind over a cup of tea. New friends were made, and it was all too soon before we took the buses back into the Salford diocese.
