Unfortunately, this can be reasonably common, especially if there is no tradition of Catholicism, or even religious practice, in one's family or background. The person who is interested in becoming a Catholic can rest assured that he or she will find the greatest support possible from those involved in his or her catechesis. There is never any need to be discouraged; if God wants you to become a Catholic, it will happen!
