The challenge |
We are all called to evangelise our world and our culture. This means that if we want to be holy, our first task will be to discover new ways to bring together faith and life, God and the world, grace and nature. Every Christian is called to build a bridge between faith and everyday life. We must bring God back into everyday life.
We need to take faith from the theoretical level to the practical level. In other words, live a kind of “covenant of love” with God.
The inspiration behind every good form of evangelisation is this: my life is not a product of chance or fate or coincidence, my life is guided and led by a God who loves me and cares for me personally (see Matthew 6). God is interested in each one of us passionately.
Everyday sanctity is “Christian realism”. We talk about life, and live life as it really is – it is a communion with Our Lord, Jesus Christ. We are called to honour him and discover him everywhere, to proclaim his power in our lives and in the events and experiences of everyday life, in our families and homes, and in our personal lives.
