Understanding the Revised Mass Texts, by Paul Turner
This two-part short course helps to explain to parishioners, catechists and ministers the process and rationale for the revised English translation and to learn the prayers and responses. The course comes with both a Participant’s copy and a Leader’s Edition for use with groups.
Become One Body, One Spirit In Christ, an interactive DVD
The DVD explores the “depth, richness and layers of the meaning of the liturgical texts of the Roman Missal”. It is subdivided into five sections:
Exploring the Mass
Receiving this English Translation
Crafting the Art of Liturgy
Celebrating the Eucharist
Living the Eucharistic Life
The DVD is designed for a range of audiences including Priests and Deacons, Liturgical Ministers, Educators and Catechists and Parishioners, including families and adult faith groups.
Roman Missal. A Study Text with Excerpts from the New English Translation, by the Vox Clara Committee
Designed to provide a wide selection of the major prayers of the Roman Missal, this text is ideal for use in workshops and other programs of preparation for priests, religious or lay leaders and the lay faithful in advance of the publication of the full ritual edition of the Roman Missal, Third Edition later this year. This study text includes the complete Order of Mass with the four major Eucharistic Prayers and four Prefaces. It includes the presidential prayers and antiphons from the Sundays of Advent, Christmas Time, Lent, and Easter Time. The presidential prayers and antiphons from the Proper of Saints for November and excerpts from the Masses and Prayers for Various Needs and Occasions and Votive Masses are also included.
Celebrating the Mystery of Faith
Originally based on the edition of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal of 2005, this book is now revised in advance of the release of the new Roman Missal. After a general introduction to the Mass and its structure, it includes a guide to the ministries exercised at Mass, the music of the Mass, as well as a commentary on the parts of the Mass – all with the purpose of promoting good and better practice. A five-session parish-based liturgical catechesis on the Mass is also given.
The New Missal. Explaining the Changes
Changes? The Mass is not changing but we are going to use a new edition of the Roman Missal, the prayer book at Mass, in a new English translation. In changed words, we gather as the body of Christ in celebrating the Eucharist, fulfilling the Lord’s command to do this in memory of me. The New Missal has been put together by the Irish National Centre for Liturgy to provide a user friendly explanation of why we have a new edition of the Missal and an account of what is new in this Missal as it replaces the edition we have used since 1975. It explains the changes to texts that we will experience in a new translation of its prayers.
