Jordan Pitt, one of the pilgrims to World Youth Day in Madrid, gives an update of his online presence during the celebrations in August. Jordan was a youth communications officer during the Papal Visit last September.

Jordan writes:

My name is Jordan Pitt. I am 18 years old and a Loreto Sixth-Form student. I attend Our Lady's parish in Moss Side. I am joined by Jessica Taylor, 17, a Stretford Grammar student and Laurie Taylor, 20, a Trafford College student; both from Salford Cathedral. We have been asked to act as Youth Communications Officers for World Youth Day in Madrid this summer. We will be writing reports, taking pictures and making videos both here and in Spain. You may remember us from the Papal Visit to the UK when we undertook the same role. We have decided to use the name SalfordWYD11 for the communications team in our diocese. Updates will be available on the Diocese of Salford website as well as on the official SalfordWYD11 accounts on Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo and Facebook.

The Twitter account will provide constant information giving news and updates as and when they happen. The information will consist of short text-based posts of up to 140 characters. Web address: www.twitter.com/salfordwyd11.

The Flickr account will be the main place where photographs from the pilgrimage will be posted. Some of the photographs will then be used on the diocese website. Web address: www.flickr.com/salfordwyd11.

Vimeo will be the place where videos will be added. Again, some of these videos will be added to the diocese website. Web address: www.vimeo.com/salfordwyd11.

The Facebook page will contain pictures, videos, updates and reports from the pilgrimage.

(Please note that you must be a Facebook member to access this page.)

We are all looking forward to our roles a Communications Officers and hope you will be able to follow our pilgrimage online.
