Today saw the official opening of the new Faith Centre at Salford University.

The opening gave those attending an opportunity to tour the facilities and gather together to mark the occasion, which had special significance falling during Inter Faith Week. The new centre highlights the importance of different faiths working together and sharing resources. It is this kind of community co-operation that Inter Faith Week aims to highlight.

The opening was attended by representatives from all the major faiths.

The new purpose built centre offers a space for group worship, private prayer, personal reflection, social activities and pastoral support all located in one place.

The Faith Centre is also home to a new chapel that will be used for weekly services by our own Salford University Chaplaincy team Sr Teresa and Fr Shaun.

Sr Teresa who is based at the new centre welcomed the facilities, which are amongst the first of its kind in the North West. Sr Teresa said ‘ we are just part of the community campus.’
