Quarant'ore at St John's Burnley |
Thursday, 25 November 2010
St John's parish in Burnley recently celebrated 40 hours ("quarant'ore") of Eucharistic Adoration. The altar was beautifully decorated to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King and the end of the Church's year.
Quarate'ore began with the celebration of Mass at 9.30 am with Fr Michael Waters, on the Friday morning.
The church was full as the children came down from school, along with some mums and dads, grandparents and parishioners.
The following three days of devotion were well attended with parishioners filling the hours with this chance to honour Our Lord. Quarante'ore finished with Benediction Sunday afternoon with everyone looking forward now to Advent.
