The Diocesan Safeguarding Commission has reported a busy first quarter for 2011 with 20 new parish representatives inducted in March, 44 others completing training sessions (bringing the total of trained diocesan representatives to 205) and a further 35 listed for training.
In February, they delivered ‘The Facts’ the second module of their clergy training programme to 83 parish priests with the third, and final, module: ‘Creating the Right Environment’ scheduled for May. The Commission also received a new member to its panel, Detective Inspector Mick Montford of Greater Manchester Police.
