Golden Jubilee of priesthood |
Friday, 25 June 2010
On Monday 14th June bishops, priests and parishioners packed the parish church of St Wilfrid in Longridge to celebrate with Canon Paul Mitcheson, who had celebrated 50 years of priesthood the previous Friday.
Four bishops and about 40 priests came to celebrate the Mass; Bishop Brain presided and Archbishop Bernard Longley preached about the joy of being a priest.
It was a truly joyful occasion, and our prayers are extended to Canon Mitcheson, his parishioners, past and present, and his family.
