The diocesan curia consists of those institutions and persons which assist the bishop in the governance of the whole diocese, especially in guiding pastoral action, in caring for the administration of the diocese, and in exercising judicial power.

The Financial Secretary

In every diocese, after having heard the college of consultors and the finance council, the bishop is to appoint a finance officer who is truly expert in financial affairs and absolutely distinguished for honesty.” (Canon 494 §1)



Fr Anthony Kay VG is the Financial Secretary of the Diocese and was appointed by the Bishop in February 2009.

 



The Finance Office

To assist him in this task he has a team of accountants and book-keepers who are expert in financial affairs. The Financial Secretary relies on this team to support him in his role and to work with him in the administration of the goods of the diocese. The role of the Financial Secretary, serving under the authority of the diocesan bishop, and co-operating within the scope of the budget prepared by the Diocesan Trustees, is to administer the goods of the diocese.
