The unique participation of those who have received Holy Orders in the Priesthood of Christ ennobles the priestly character of all baptised Christians. Configured to Christ in the service of the Christian community, the priest is at the heart of the Church’s self-understanding (cfr Catechism of the Catholic Church 1536 ff). The Office for Priestly Vocations undertakes the encouragement and support of all who have received this vocation. The Vocations Director of the diocese is Fr David Featherstone.
