Abortion is the deliberate and direct killing of a human being at any point between the first moment of existence and birth. It is gravely wrong.
It must be noted immediately that the Church never condemns anyone who has had an abortion, or who is contemplating having one. In fact, help is always available for people in such a situation. Charities such as Life offer post-abortion counselling and other services for women in need.
