Prayers every child should know
The top ten prayers... |
Prayer, as we show more extensively in the Prayer and Worship section of this website, is our way to stay connected to God. It is a means to tell God that we love him and understand more and more that he loves us “more than many sparrows” (Luke 12,7). That is why prayer is also important for children. It can be a real source of strength and peace for them in their young lives. Teaching your children how to pray can be a daunting task. The best place to start is with common prayers that can be easily memorised.
Children who are making their First Holy Communion should have memorised all the prayers in this list, while the Grace Before and After Meals and the Guardian Angel prayer are prayers that even very young children can learn by repeating them daily.
Use the ten different prayers given in this section with your children on a daily basis and see how their life of faith grows. They are printed in a large font so as to be easy to read when printed off.
Please go to the Prayer and Worship section of this website for more resources.
