The Department of Formation has established the DEEP Trust (Diocesan Education for Excellence Partnership) to facilitate and organise training needs for its family of schools. 

The mission statement for the DEEP Trust is: I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full. John 10,10

The DEEP Trust will help to support the needs of our schools and colleges to grow and strengthen their distinctive Catholic nature and contribute to the Mission of the Church. Primarily, the Trust will help to strengthen the excellent work of our schools and colleges.

The DEEP Trust will create an integrated and comprehensive CPD programme, delivered by high quality providers, which inevitably includes our own schools and colleges.

The Trust has adopted a ‘grass roots’ model to identify the main CPD priorities and devise suitable arrangements to meet them. The Trust has established the ‘Visioning Group’, which is a representative group of colleagues and support partners. The Visioning Group meets each term to monitor the DEEP Trust provision and contribute to the future priorities. Consequently, what is offered each year should be very close to the hearts of schools & colleges.

The Trust operates mainly through the annual contributions of schools & colleges and the provision of the Diocese of Salford. The Trust will aim to access further funding from external sources. Importantly, the good will and input from our schools to collaborate and pool their expertise will be critical to the effectiveness of the Trust.

The Trust can play an important part in the realisation of Christian solidarity and subsidiarity.
