Office for Priestly Vocations

News
:

June 2009

We announce a new Vocations-centred monthly series, to celebrate the Year of the Priest, and consisting of a Scripture based reflection and prayer , each written, by a different priest of the Diocese of Salford.

First writing (by Fr David Featherstone)

"Think Vocations"

Parish Newsletter inserts for Vocations 2008/09
(Year B)

We have issued a set of religious writings (html), each of a paragraph in length, to enable individuals to reflect on whether they have a calling to the priesthood or religious life or can recognise the calling in someone else and help to guide them on their consideration into God's service.

There is a short paragraph aligned to each Sunday's liturgy (ranging from the 1st Sunday of Advent, 30th November 2009, to the feast of Christ the Universal King, 22nd November 2009) and we encourage parishes to include these, on a paragraph per week basis, in their newsletters.

The 'Inserts' are also provided in two further different formats:

[pdf version]
Ideally, use this PDF version for 'cut and paste' copying to your parish newsletter.
This is also the best version for producing 'printer friendly' copies of the full set of reading.

[ms word version]
The HTML version (see above) or this MS Word version may be preferred by some editors.
