There are many books and websites about the different vocations – see below for a few titles. If you are looking for information and advice about vocation, but are not sure where to turn, here are just one or two suggestions:

The different vocations: The National Office for Vocation has some information and links concerning all the vocations. See especially the section ‘Callings’.

Discerning: There are many groups in the Church set up to help people discern their vocation. One such is Compass, which has an excellent website with prayers and links to various religious orders.

In the diocese of Salford, there are many individuals and groups that can help. Try Fr David Featherstone, Vocations Director, or the Fraternas, a community of consecrated laypeople that specialise in discernment for the young.
