CAFOD Challenge: Riding 2,020 miles in 2020
Thursday 24th September 2020At the start of the year Simon Holleron of CAFOD in Salford set himself the challenge of riding 2,020 miles during 2020.
Simon, who last year managed 800 miles, linked his challenge to the CAFOD coronavirus appeal in July and set up a JustGiving page to collect funds.
“We know how hard we have been hit in this country by COVID-19,” said Simon, “but millions of people around world are faced with the dilemma ofrisking catching the Coronavirus or starving, in countries with medical facilities which do not bare comparison with our own.”
After a real push over the summer, Simon had ridden 1,300 miles by the end of August.
“I am over half-way, but I still have plenty of miles to ride,” he said.
