Event: Engaging young people in parishes

Friday 9th August 2019

On 14 September, come along to Thornleigh Salesian College in Bolton to hear ideas on how we can engage and empower young people to get involved in their parish communities.

Let us encourage the generosity which is typical of the young and help them to work actively in building a better world. Youth do not solely need material things. Above all, they need to have those non-material values which are the spiritual heart of a people… spirituality, generosity, solidarity, perseverance, fraternity, and joy.

Pope Francis

Our keynote speaker, Synod Fruits’ Chris Knowles, will be sharing his insights about how we can take inspiration from the Synod to engage young people in parishes.

Following this, there will be workshops on Impact groups, youth Alpha and how to set up your own youth group.

You will also be able to find out more about the CYMFed Faith in Action award and speak to representatives from various charities and youth ministry organisations who will be hosting stalls at the event.

All are welcome to the day which will begin at 9:30am and will run until 15:00pm.  Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch.

Book your place at the Hope in the Future Engaging Young People day.
