Journeying with Advent Families

Friday 1st December 2017

Today saw the first of the ‘Journeying with Advent Families’ talks at Wardley Hall. The talk was the first in a series of three during Advent.

The question poised is – ‘What can a penniless foreign widow, an elderly barren woman and a young Virgin mother tell us today about welcoming Jesus, God-with-us?’

With each Friday focusing on a different answer to this question, today’s talk focused on Ruth, Naomi and Boaz – Promise foreshadowed.

Sr Joan Kerely showed how these three individuals can be viewed as the three symbols of the Theological virtues – Faith, Hope and Love and where they fit into today’s world.

The lunchtime talks continue over Advent as we start our journey towards Christmas.
