Pause for Hope

Monday 8th October 2018

This weekend will see the second service for those affected by cancer to be held at St Michael and St John’s Church in Clitheroe.

Pause for Hope, a service for people affected in any way by cancer, will take place on Sunday 14th October.

The first service was held in April, 2017 and was well attended by people from Burnley and Blackburn as well as the Ribble valley.  Many of those attending commented on how much they had enjoyed the service and gained comfort and solace from it.

Participants will include patients, professional practitioners, and fundraisers as well as local clergy and the Ribble Valley choir will sing.

This service was first initiated by Prof. Ray Donnelly, a retired thoracic surgeon, who is now President of the Roy Castle Foundation, in 1999.

At the service there will be an opportunity to light a candle for loved ones and to obtain a special prayer card.

The service will be held at 3 pm on 14th October at St. Michael & St. John’s RC Church, Lowergate, Clitheroe, BB7 1AG, where everyone is invited to share in a very special time of reflection.
