Recent Clergy Appointments and Creation of New Parishes

Wednesday 16th October 2019

Over the last few months there have been some clergy moves in parishes as the bishops new appointments of parish priests take place. These are detailed below.

Bishop John thanked all the priests who have accepted moves and amalgamations. He said “I am very grateful to all the priests and parishes who have welcomed and accepted moves. We must ensure that the Church continues to be missionary and outward facing, spreading the Gospel message of God’s love in practical ways, particularly for the benefit of those most in need. ”

In addition to the reappointment of some clergy, Canon Alan Denneny, Fr Richard Aspden, Mgr John Corcoran and Canon Michael Buckley have recently retired. We give our thanks for their many years of service to the diocese and assure them of our continued prayers as they settle into retirement.
