Walk, dance, row the Miles that Matter this Refugee Week

Sunday 13th June 2021

Since 1st May, Caritas Diocese of Salford’s Refugee Education Service has been asking people to join them in walking in the footsteps of our brothers and sisters migrating to our shores.  The end of the journey will coincide with International Refugee Week (14th to 18th June).  Families and friends are being asked to sponsor supporters to walk, run, cycle – even row – part or all of the distance of one of the four journeys taken by our students who travelled, often by foot, from their war-torn countries to the U.K. in search of a safe home and future for their family.

Jean Pierre Across the English Channel – 20 miles / 32 km

Fatima Aleppo to Turkish border – 40 miles / 64 km

Peter Across the Desert from Sudan to Libya – 80 miles/ 130 km

Musaab Mediterranean crossing from Libya Italy – 400 miles / 640 km.
